Today's been a big day.

Dad passed the swallow test with flying colors, so he finally got that Diet Coke and a real lunch. Hopefully that means they'll go ahead and take the feeding tube out when they see how enthusiastic he is about actual food. He got out of bed and hung out in the chair for a while this morning, and he said ti helped his back a lot to have a change in position.

They did a CT scan last night because the nurses were concerned that his left arm was weaker than his right. The scan came back clean, so it's probably just some lingering effects of the shoulder injury he had last spring.

And finally, they removed his central line, so we're down to just the catheter and chest tube to come out before he can come home to recuperate in peace.

  1. Sounds like Dad's recovery is progressing nicely- patience- of course- isn't his strong suit!! But.... given the whole situation- sounds like medically it's all good news!! Keep the faith- So glad to hear he's doing much better!!
